The Armenian Petanque Federation was founded in 2004 and has been promoting the sport in the country for two decades. It is a member of the International Federation of Petanque and Provençal Games and the European Petanque Confederation. In 2018, the Federation participated in the Francophonie Summit in Yerevan with exhibition matches. In 2025, Armenian athlete Michel Hatchadourian won a silver medal in the shooting discipline at the European Championships in Spain — a historic achievement for Armenian petanque.
